Join former Children's Laureate Joseph Coelho for an inspiring and interactive celebration of poetry.

Come on a camping trip with an outdoor feast, or have an adventure - just you and your dog. Be a GIANT of learning, find a message in a bottle, sail the storyteller seas, or travel to the end of the earth. These poems will fire the imagination, take you exploring, and help you find your own special place. Joseph will share poems, discuss where ideas come from, and demonstrate how poetry can help us make sense of the world around us.

Perfect for reading aloud, performing and enjoying together, this event will encourage children to discover the joy of poetry and inspire them to create their own.

Schools are welcome to make a day of their visit. Manchester Central Library has a café serving hot and cold food, snacks and drinks, and there are plenty of spaces nearby where groups can enjoy their own lunch following the event.
