Come tell us,
Or give us a hint.
Trace a word or just a single letter

Spilled on the table

In this intimate workshop, we’ll be channeling the strange, thrilling power of the unenlightened speaker. How does it feel to be the least knowledgeable character in your own poem? What might happen? What might you encounter? Will you end the poem knowing more or even less? Prepare to write an almost criminal amount of brand new, dazed material.
Caroline Bird is an award-winning poet known for her inventive and vivid poetry, described by Simon Armitage as ‘spring-loaded, funny and deadly.’ Her collections include Ambush at Still Lake, The Air Year (winner of the Forward Prize for Best Collection) and the Selected Poems collection Rookie.
Presented in partnership with Manchester Poetry Library at Manchester Metropolitan University.
Wheelchair Users and those with other access needs requiring a free Essential Carer ticket should contact the Quaytickets Box Office on 0161 876 2015 to purchase tickets.
