Manchester Literature Festival, in association with the Poetry School Manchester, was delighted to present a trio of Bloodaxe poets, who with their latest works, whetted their imaginations on the twin edges of desire and identity. They all spoke with humour, passion and an urgency of voice that left the audience emotionally winded. Jackie Kay, author of four previous collections of poetry, the award-winning novel Trumpet and two highly acclaimed short story collections, read from her new collection, Darling: New & Selected Poems. Suzanne Batty and Clare Shaw both read from their first full collections,The Barking Thing and Straight Ahead - all in the shadow of the museum's resident T.rex. A truly memorable night!
