Manchester Literature Festival and the Centre for New Writing were delighted to present a rare appearance by the distinguished American poet Galway Kinnell, famous for his compelling performances. His new collection, Strong Is Your Hold has the distinction of being one of the very few books by American poets to be given a Poetry Book Society Recommendation in the UK. Strong is Your Hold intermingles poems of the natural world, love poems, evocations of sexuality, and poems about family, friends and heroes. It also features his requiem for those who died on 9/11, When The Towers Fell.
