Shreve is the author of thirteen best-selling novels including The Weight of Water, The Pilot's Wife, Fortune's Rocks, A Wedding in December and Body Surfing. The Weight of Water was shortlisted for the Orange Prize and The Pilot’s Wife was selected by Oprah Winfrey’s ‘Book club’ series. Her latest novel, Testimony, is a gripping emotional drama with the pace of a thriller, set in a New England boarding school where a sex scandal is about to erupt. The novel explores the dark impulses that sway the lives of seeming innocents, and the ways in which our best intentions can lead to our worst transgressions. The event will be chaired by broadcaster and journalist Lynne Walker.
