Ann Lingard and Jennifer Rohn will talk about the joys and challenges of
putting modern science into fiction – and, with the help of a variety of
scientific objects and images, will run a ‘hands-on’ workshop to give writers the courage to do so. Ann Lingard is a freelance writer and former scientist who (as Dr Ann Lackie) is also the founder and editor of SciTalk (www.scitalk.org.uk), the free resource that helps fiction-writers meet and talk to scientists. Her fifth novel, The Embalmer’s Book of Recipes, will be published this autumn. Dr Jennifer Rohn is a Wellcome Trust fellow at the MRC Laboratory for Molecular Cell Biology at University College London. In her spare time she is a freelance writer and the founder and editor of LabLit.com (www.lablit.com), a magazine devoted to illuminating the world of scientists. Her novel, Experimental Heart, will be published later this year.
