Join the judge's short-listed fiction authors for this year’s Portico Prize as they slug it out in a war of words to find out which one of them takes home the prize (to be announced in November). With nearly a hundred authors on the long-list, this really is la crème de la literary crème – and an ideal opportunity to make your own mind up. For over twenty years, the Portico Prize has been one of the country’s leading literary prizes, aiming to celebrate the strong regional identity of the North, to raise awareness of the diversity of its cultural, literary and historical heritage and to promote quality writing of all kinds.
