Three of the UK’s leading historical crime writers will be discussing their work in the suitably gothic surrounds of The John Ryland’s Library. Lee Jackson’s first book, London Dust, was shortlisted for the Ellis Peters Historical Dagger Award. Andrew Martin is the author of the hugely acclaimed Jim Stringer novels, the latest of which is Death on a Branch Line. Anne Perry was selected by The Times as one of the twentieth century's 100 Masters of Crime. Her books have received critical acclaim and huge popular success, with more than twenty-four million copies in print world-wide and an ITV adaptation under her belt. The event will be chaired by Jerome de Groot, local academic and author of Consuming History.

* This event will be preceded by a specially arranged tour of the Manchester Police Museum on Newton Street at 3pm. Places are limited so please book early. Tickets for the tour are £4 / £3 concessions. Book on 0870 428 0785 or online.
